Online Pregnancy Centers

While most people think of a pregnancy center as a building, there are many online pregnancy centers today in our modern age.  An online pregnancy center could be a great way to seek help.  While some people might find it intimidating to walk into a pregnancy center or might find it difficult to do so logistically, they can easily access on online center.

What Does An Online Pregnancy Center Do?

An online pregnancy center can serve many different functions.  Some of these centers are referral centers; you can email them and explain where you live and they will find an actual pregnancy center nearby.  They'll let you know about the closest centers and will give you details about each location.  Some of these centers will also offer guidance and assistance over the phone and through email.  If you are in crisis with a pregnancy and don't know where to turn, you may not be willing to drive to a pregnancy center.  You may, however, be willing to pick up the phone to place an anonymous call.  This can be a great and very helpful first step in seeking the advice and the assistance that you need to make difficult decisions that you have in front of you.

Understanding People

When you call an online pregnancy hot line or send an email, you are dealing with trained professionals who will know how to help.  While you may not want to share your crisis with your parents, your friends, or your boyfriend, you may be willing to do so over the phone with a trained professional.  This is a great option for people who are scared or nervous about their situation and don't know where to turn.  The conversation will be completely confidential, and the counselor will help to guide you towards an informed decision.  They will connect you with a nearby pregnancy center and will help to assuage your fears about going to the center.

24 Hour a Day Service

While pregnancy centers are open during regular business hours, a pregnancy hot line is available to you 24 hours a day.  You can call, email or instant message someone and should hear back from them immediately.  Anything that you convey to them will be held in confidence. An unplanned pregnancy can be a very scary experience, and many of your fears may arise in the evening hours.  It's important to know that you still have access to someone who can help you and guide you during this difficult time - even in the middle of the night.
